Hello! I am Riddhima Sharma. I received my PhD in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and I presently work as a knowledge specialist at Point of View.  My dissertation titled “I Learned About This Online:” The Role of South Asian Digital Feminist Activism as Pedagogy maps the ways in which social media is used by feminist activists as pedagogical spaces, and the politics and negotiations of performing digital activist labor.

At my postdoc appointment (Principal Project Scientist) at IIT Delhi, I lead the digital humanities research as well as the digital presence for STEMtheGap - a Co-Impact funded research on women's life cycle in Indian STEM institutions from entry to experience, retention, and leadership. In my previous role as Project Scientist, School of Public Policy, IIT Delhi, I led the qualitative research on gendered perceptions of safety, experiences and negotiations with public spaces, and the role of crowdsourcing platforms.

My research has been published in leading journals such as Feminist Media Studies, Women's Studies in Communication, and Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion. In 2021, my research paper was awarded second place at the BGSU 12th Annual Charles E. Shanklin Research Excellence Awards in Arts and Humanities.

I am also the founder of a digital feminist platform, FemPositive. I have previously taught courses in gender, law and public policy at the Research Centre for Women’s Studies, SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai as visiting faculty and led numerous workshops around gender, digital media, gender-based violence and law in India.
